After two years of using my Stanley Quencher H2.0 1.18L every day in Malta, my answer is yes: it has been worth it for me. It still keeps my water cold throughout my workday, the original straw remains in excellent condition, and it has handled daily use very well.
The visible wear is small. There are a few patches where the lilac coating has worn away around the bottom rim, and the plastic lid has some light scratches. Neither has stopped me from using it. The Stanley I Have Used for Two Years
My cup is the Lilac Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler in the 1.18L size. I take it to work every day, and it holds enough water to keep beside me for hours without having to refill it all the time.
I live in Gzira and often walk to work along the Gzira Strand. The side handle is one of the things I like most because it is comfortable to carry while I walk and easy to pick up from my desk. Since I bought mine, Stanley has also released options with a top handle, including IceFlow models. I can see why people would like that style, but I still prefer the side handle on my Quencher.
I cannot really comment on car cup holders because I do not use mine in a car. My experience is carrying it while walking and keeping it beside me at work. Having the Straw Ready Makes Me Drink More Water
One of the biggest differences for me is very simple: the straw is always there. I do not have to unscrew a bottle every time I want a drink. When the Stanley is on my desk, I take a sip without thinking much about it.
Because it is so easy to use, I notice that I drink more water whenever I have it with me. I feel better hydrated through the day, especially during warm weather in Malta. That has mattered more to me than any trend around Stanley cups. A water cup is only useful if I actually reach for it, and I still reach for this one after two years.
I prefer having the straw up and ready all the time. If you do not like leaving the straw opening uncovered, you can use a straw stopper or topper. I have one for mine as well. What I appreciate most is how well the double-wall vacuum insulation works. My water stays cold throughout the day while I am at work. Even when I am outside for hours and the Maltese sun is shining directly onto the cup, the water inside still stays cold.

How I Keep It Clean
Keeping it clean has been easy because I only use it for water. I normally wash the cup, lid and straw by hand with water and a little washing-up liquid. I use a straw cleaner for the inside of the straw, rinse everything and leave the pieces to dry.
The cup can go in the dishwasher, and I have put mine on the top rack before. Most of the time, washing it by hand is quicker and easier for me. Since I am not filling it with coffee or sugary drinks, it does not get very dirty and a simple wash is usually enough.
How My Stanley Has Held Up After Two Years
Overall, it has held up extremely well. The lilac body, handle and Stanley logo still look good, and the cup remains part of my daily routine. The close-up photos show the few places where two years of daily use have left a mark.
The Original Straw Is Still in Excellent Condition
I am still using the original straw. It is straight, clear and in excellent condition after two years. I expected a part used every day to show more wear, but mine has not needed replacing.
Small Signs of Wear Around the Bottom
The clearest wear is around the bottom rim. A few small patches of the lilac coating have worn away where the cup is repeatedly placed on desks and other hard surfaces. The photograph makes these marks easy to see, but they are limited to small areas around the edge.
This has not affected how I use the cup. The marks are what I would expect from something that has been used every day for two years.
Minor Marks on the Lid
The lid also has light scratches and small signs of use. These are mostly visible on the pale plastic surface and around the rotating lilac section. They are only cosmetic, and the lid still works as it should.
It Still Fits My Style at Work
I chose Lilac because I liked the colour, and I still do. The simple shape and colour work well with the outfits I wear to work, so it does not feel like a purely practical bottle that I want to hide away. It looks at home on my desk and is easy to carry with me when I leave.
Style would not be enough on its own to make a cup worth buying, but it helps when the product is something I use every day. I have not become tired of the design after two years.
Why the Materials Matter to Me
I use this cup every day, so I care about what it is made from. Stanley's official EU information says its drinkware uses 18/8 grade 304 food-grade stainless steel and that its food-and-drink contact surfaces are BPS/BPA-free.

Is a Stanley Worth It in Malta?
For me, yes. I have used the same Stanley every day for two years, it still keeps my water cold through work and time outdoors, and it encourages me to drink more because the straw makes it so easy. The original straw is still in excellent condition, and the only visible wear is light scratching on the lid and a few small worn areas around the bottom coating.
I would recommend this size to someone who wants a large water cup for a desk, workday or daily walk and does not mind carrying it by the handle. I cannot recommend it from personal experience for coffee, hot drinks or car use because those are not how I use mine.
